JOHN BOGLE

Founder of The Vanguard Group, Inc., an investment management company. Bogle is also a major personality in the index investing community. He was the first individual to offer an index refund to retail customers. In 2002, Vanguard 500, Bogle’s flagship, became the world’s biggest mutual fund assets. He wrote the book Common Sense on Mutual Funds: New Imperatives for the Intelligent Investor, a bestseller and considered a classic. Bogle is also a proponent of passive investing over active management, as well as for low fees and no sales charge.
