JOINT ACCOUNT

A bank or brokerage account held by two or more individuals. Most of the time, this account is used between relatives, couples, or business partners with a certain degree of familiarity and trust for each other. This account normally permits anyone named on the account to access funds within it. All members of a joint bank or brokerage account are responsible for any liabilities in relation to the account. This is a good option for two or more persons who share the common financial goals or interests.
