JUDICIAL FORECLOSURE
Foreclosure proceedings with court intervention in which a mortgage lacks the power of sale clause. The court allows a lender to seize and sell a borrower’s collateral when the borrower has failed to repay the lender. This is different from non-judicial closures that are settled without court intervention. The term is most connected to the real estate.
