LAST TRADING DAY
The last day that a futures contract may be traded or be closed before the delivery or cash settlement of the underlying asset. By the final trading day, the trader should have the asset delivered or settle it in cash if the position is not closed.
However, delivery of the asset underlying the futures contract is not happening; most investors turn to use futures as a method to speculate on the price of the underlying asset.
