LEHMAN AGGREGATE BOND INDEX

An index used to serve as a benchmark in order to measure the relative performances of bond funds being traded. It includes asset-backed securities, corporate securities, government policies and securities, and mortgage-backed securities to simulate the universe of bonds in the market. Considered as one of the best total market bond indices, the maturities of these bonds are more than a year. Formerly known as Barclays Capital Aggregate Bond Index.
