LEHMAN BROTHERS ASSET-BACKED SECURITIES INDEX
A fixed-income index, which focuses on asset-backed securities. A subset index of the Lehman Brothers Aggregate Bond Index, it serves as a performance standard for most asset-backed securities. The index includes the following securities: bullet-structured, controlled-amortization, and pass-through. All three have a minimum average life of one year. It concentrates on the following forms of asset-backed debt: auto loans, credit loans, and home equity loans.
