A law that protects the consumers in the event they purchase a new vehicle that is not functioning properly. It pertains to defect which affects the use, safety, or value of a motor vehicle. If the vehicle cannot be repaired after numerous attempts, the purchaser should return it to the dealer and the latter must replace the defective vehicle. The law varies from one state to another. It is not always applicable to used vehicle purchases or leased vehicles.
