LEVEL LOAD
An annual sales charge or load deducted from an investor’s mutual fund assets to make the distribution and marketing payments, as long as the investor holds the investment. Most of the time, the fee is paid to brokers for selling a fund’s shares to the public, in retail.
Also called 12b-1 fee, these are included in a mutual fund’s operating expenses.
