LEVERAGED ETF

An exchange-traded fund (ETF) that uses financial derivatives and debt in order to boost investment returns. Leveraged ETFs are available for most indices like NASDAQ 100 and Dow Jones Industrial Average. It may help or hurt an investor, depending on the individual’s investment performance, that is relative to the debt cost used in attaining the asset. But it does not amplify the index’s annual returns; instead, it goes after the daily changes. These fund intends to keep a constant amount of leverage within the investment time frame, like a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio.
