LIMITED DISCRETIONARY ACCOUNT
An account in which the client allows his or her broker to buy and sell securities on his/her behalf. The broker can make certain trades without prior consent from the investor. In order for this to take place, the investor needs to sign an agreement which allows the broker to make trades on behalf of the client and should coincide with the investor’s goals.
Also referred to as a "controlled account".
