MALPRACTICE INSURANCE
A professional liability insurance that covers health care professionals (and other types of professionals such as lawyers and engineers). The insurance coverage defends the health care providers from patients’ claims that they were harmed by the physician’s negligent or intentionally harmful treatment decisions. It pays for the protection of the insured in lawsuits (done intentionally or not) and levied damages (if any) up to a certain limit.
