A restructuring initiative that is done to privatize a public traded company, which are public. It involves both managerial and non-managerial employees who are buying out an organization to be able to concentrate the ownership into a small one, coming from a widely-spread group of shareholders. This can also be an exit strategy for venture capitalists or other stakeholders in an already private corporation.
