MATERIALS REQUIREMENT PLANNING - MRP
A production planning and inventory control system designed to manage manufacturing processes and production. A software based integrated information system, it helps businesses in producing and selling its products. This is used to enter raw material deliveries and quantities from the assumptions of machine and labor unit that is needed to meet the sales prediction. The system aims to meet three objectives: ensure items are available for production and delivery to customers, maintain possible lowest level of inventory, and plan manufacturing and purchasing activities, and delivery schedules.
