MCF

A symbol for one thousand cubic feet of natural gas that is equivalent to 28.32 cubic meters. A natural gas well, which yields 400 Mcf of gas a day, functions with a production rate of 400,000. An Mcf is equal to around 1,000,000 British thermal units (Btu) of energy. The ‘M’ in Mcf comes from the Roman numeral ‘M’ that is equal to 1,000. Hence, one million cubic feet is denoted as MMcf.
