MEDIA EFFECT
A theory that explains how stories published by media can influence or amplify current market trends. Investors or borrowers will read an article or watch a news, then will be moved to act quickly on that article or news. Often seen in the mortgage market, prepayment rates may sharply increase after seeing many news stories.
