MICRO-HEDGE
An investment technique designed to reduce or eliminate the risk of a particular asset, against taking out the risk from an entire portfolio. In most cases, it means taking an offsetting position in a single asset.
If the particular asset is part of a larger portfolio with numerous correlated risks, it will rule out the risk of one asset but is less likely to be an effective investment technique.
