MINIMUM-INTEREST RULES
A law that mandates a minimum interest rate must be charged in any loan transaction between two parties. This rule requires that even if the lender charges no rate, an arbitrary rate shall be automatically imposed on the loan. These are at least partially intended to prevent gifting between taxpayers through intra-family loans with no or lower than market interest rates.
