MONTHLY TREASURY AVERAGE INDEX - MTA INDEX
12-month moving average of the one year constant maturity treasury (CMT) used for adjustable rate mortgages. To compute, add the 12 latest monthly CMT values and divide it by 12. It has a delayed effect since it is a moving average. In other words, the present MTA value will not be as high as the current MTA value, and vice versa.
