An institution that aims to promote foreign investment in developing countries. It is founded in 1988 by World Bank and located in Washington, D.C. It offers various services to encourage foreign direct investment, including imposed spending limits, risk insurance against foreign exchange restrictions, outbreak of conflicts or wars, and related restrictions on firm assets.
