Gordon Hayes introduced these one-ounce silver disks in October 2005. These are not legal tender or official currency because they are not endorsed by any government or state. Phoenix Dollars were made as a means of protecting wealth as their value doesn’t depend on fiat currency, but based on the silver’s market price.
