SEARCH COST

Search Cost is the total amount of time, energy, and money consumed by a person that was used in researching a product or service of purchase. Search costs involve one or more of three things: (1) the opportunity cost of time and energy that was used on the search, (2) the amount of time and energy that was supposed to be used in other activities, and (3) money spent to travel for the inspection of different options in various stores and to purchase research data or advice from experts.
