SEC FORM N-1A
SEC Form N-1A is a filing submitted by all mutual funds with the exception of insurance company separate accounts and small business investment companies registered under United States Small Business Administration under the Securities and Exchange Commision. SEC Form N-1A was made to promotes effective and smooth communication between the funds and the prospective investors. It does this by gathering data on the fund’s fundamental characteristics and the risk in the investment. The data gathered is to be shown concisely and clearly with the aim to be understood by the average investor who is someone who may or may not have an extensive legal or financial knowledge. SEC Form N-1A also must present a balanced view of the fund meaning both the positive and negative may be scrutinized.
