SOCIAL SECURITY ACT
The Social Security Act is a law that created the system of transfer payments. It was enacted in 1935 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt wherein the young working people support the old retired people. The government started the collection of Social Security tax from workers in 1937 and started the payments in 1940 under the act.
