Account that contains the assets obtained in the open market. Managed by the Federal Reserve Bank, this account is comprised of domestic securities and foreign currency portfolios including various investments denominated in euros and Japanese yen. It acts as a management tool for Fed’s assets, to be used in case of emergency should the need for liquidity arise.
