TAKE-HOME PAY
Pay received by an individual from working after adding bonuses and subtracting employment taxes, cost of benefits, and retirement contributions. In the United States, it is computed by taking an individual’s monthly gross income and deducting his federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare taxes, any state or local taxes, healthcare premiums, 401(k) contribution, and contributions to flexible spending account.
