TANGIBLE COMMON EQUITY - TCE
Gauge of a firm’s capital used to determine a financial institution’s capacity to handle potential losses. TCE is computed by deducting goodwill and preferred stock, and intangible asset from its book value. It is particularly useful for assessing firms with huge amounts of preferred stock.
