TEMPORARY DEFAULT
Bond rating implying the issuer may fail to pay all the interest payments outlined in the contract, but is taking measures to avoid full default. It describes the debt issuer’s creditworthiness with a high possibility of defaulting on the debt but is trying to settle his payment. The situation also denotes a potential default of principal, interest, or both.
