TERMINAL YEAR
In estate planning and taxation, it refers to the year an individual has passed away. Many distinct tax rules and handling of income and assets are applied during the individual’s final year. In Canada, it is the part of the calendar year in which an individual was living, from January 1st until the person’s date of death.
