THE CELLER-KEFAUVER ACT
Act refining the Clayton Act, a previous anti-trust legislation dealing initially with mergers. Enacted in 1950, it prohibits vertical and conglomerate mergers that would reduce competition. It targets mergers where firms purchase suppliers, and occasionally competitor’s suppliers to ensure production.
