TICK TEST RULES
Former rule restricting a short sale to be executed. The now defunct rule states a short sale could only be done in two instances: the price of a specific stock was greater than the last trade price (uptick) or the stock’s price remained the same. The last trade price had to be higher than the trade price before it (zero uptick or zero plus tick). Also called short sale rule.
