TRACKING ERROR
Difference between the price movement of a position or portfolio, and the price behavior of a benchmark. Often associated with a hedge fund or mutual fund, the difference is reported as a standard deviation percentage. It refers to fund that did not work effectively, as expected, leading to sudden profit or loss. Also called active risk.
