TREASURY INDEX
Index trailing the auctions of US Treasury bills or the US Treasury’s daily yield curve. It determines mortgage rates for mortgages with an unfixed component and also serves as a performance benchmark for investors in the capital markets, as it shows a rate of return the investors can get from almost banks with minimal effort. A proprietary index, its computations and their components differ by the financial institution computing the index.
