UNISEX LEGISLATION

Unisex legislation is a statutory law that restricts insurance companies from having biases regarding their policies about the gender of the policy holder. Insurance companies must have in no way tilt toward a specific gender when developing their insurance classifications, rates, coverage, etc. Unisex legislation gives fair and equal rates and coverage to all policyholders regardless of gender. Not all insurance companies are implementing this law with most trends giving higher rates for men.
