UNLIMITED LIABILITY

Unlimited Liability is a kind of business venture in which responsibility for the entire amount of debt and liabilities accumulated by the business is shared by owners. Unlimited Liability does not have a maximum amount. It also disregards the amount of investment made by an owner and is permanent in nature. In the case of unmet financial obligations, unpaid debts, and unsettled liabilities, the owner is accountable for the deficiency and his or her personal assets may be seized to compensate for the debt. This kind of liability is common among general partnerships and sole proprietorships.
