UNSOLD INVENTORY INDEX
Unsold Inventory Index is a national statistic of monthly data that contains information on the quantity of unsold homes. The index is expressed in the time it takes to sell the unsold homes at the rate it is currently in. The time usually used for the measure is months. The velocity of home sales are determined by comparing the unsold inventory index with the average number of sales per month.
