ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ONLY - ASO
An arrangement wherein the payment for the benefits of an employee, such as health insurance program or pension plan, will be handled by the organization but an outside firm will be hired to conduct such administrative services. An organization, for example, may render the services of an insurance company to process and evaluate the claims under the health plans of its employees while at the same time shouldering the payments of the claim.
