AFFORDABILITY INDEX
A measurement of the capability of the population to afford the purchase of a specific item, a house for example, in relation to the income of the population. The value of 100 is used in the affordability index to mark the position of an individual earning a population's median income, values below 100 indicates that an item is more affordable while values over 100 indicates that an item is less likely to be affordable.
