AGED FAIL
A contract involving two broker-dealers which had not been settled within the 30 days settlement period. Aged Fails usually occur once a security is undelivered because of the failure in the selling client's part to deliver the security to his/her broker; the broker cannot deliver the security to the buying broker. This commonly results to necessary book adjustments of the receiving firm, to account for assets that has not been received.
