BALTIC EXCHANGE
An exchange which holds the settlement and trading of both derivatives and physical contracts relating to maritime transportation and shipping. The Baltic Exchange gives the daily prices for freight, and monitors shipping costs via several indexes. Traders employ these indexes to resolve forward freight agreements (FFAs), which are freight futures contracts.
