BLACK THURSDAY
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 11% at the open in very huge volume on October 24, 1929. The stock market crash appeared before the Wall Street crash in 1929 and after the Great Depression in 1930s. It also pertains to the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States in which retailers open on Thanksgiving evening to begin the holiday shopping season of Black Friday.
