BUILD AMERICA BONDS - BABS
Taxable municipal bonds carrying tax credits and/or federal subsidies for either bondholders or bond issuers. Introduced in 2009, BABs are part of US President Barack Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that aims to create jobs and stimulate the economy by reducing the borrowing cost for state and local governments in funding new projects.
