CAPITAL REQUIREMENT
The patterned requirements in place for banks and other depository organizations, which concludes how much liquidity is needed to be held for a particular level of assets through regulatory bureaus like the Federal Reserve Board, Bank for International Settlements or Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. These conditions are put into place to make sure that these organizations are not joining or carrying investments that hikes the risk of default and that they have an abundant capital to support managing losses while still recognizing withdrawals.
"Regulatory capital" is another term used to characterize capital requirement.
