CAPITALISM
An economic method according on an open competition, free market, private ownership and profit motive of the means of production. Capitalism stimulates business and private investment, in comparison with a government-regulated economy. Investors in these private firms (i.e. shareholders) also own the companies and are characterized as capitalists.
