CAPTIVE AGENT
Insurance agent working exclusively for one insurance firm. The agent is paid by that company either by combining salary and commissions or purely commissions. He may be a full-time worker or an independent contractor. They have deep knowledge of their company’s insurance products but cannot assist a client who does not need or qualify for those products. Companies may press the agents to sell some policies or meet sales quotas.
