CEASE AND DESIST
Order imposed by a government administrative agency or a court prohibiting any suspicious or illegal acts. It places an injunction on an individual or firm to discontinue an activity. In the United States, it falls under the Financial Institutions Regulator Act of 1978 that is used in real estate to prevent antitrust behavior among companies or half illegal discrimination.
