CLONE FUND
Mutual fund emulating the performance or technique of a bigger and successful mutual fund. A mutual fund company set it up when the original fund became too big to be managed effectively or if the firm seeks to introduce another pricing structure. In Canada, clone fund pertains to funds which used derivatives to bypass the international content restriction that used to prevail in retirement accounts.
