CLOSED FUND
Mutual fund that has been temporarily or permanently closed to new investors, normally due to rapid asset growth. In some instances, current shareholders can continue investing in the mutual fund but precluded from placing additional investments. The primary reason behind this is the fund managers may find it too difficult to effectively execute its investing style if the fund’s asset base increased.
