Amount of revenue a retail location generated in the latest accounting period, compared to the revenue earned in the same period in the past. These are most commonly used either to compare the most recent year’s holiday shopping season to last year’s; or to compare weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly sales to last year’s sales.
