CONFLICT THEORY
Theory stating the society is in a state of perpetual conflict because of competition for limited sources. Propounded by Karl Marx, the social order is maintained using domination and authority. Individuals with wealth and power attempt to hold on to it in any way they can, primarily by suppressing poor and powerless ones.
