CONTROL STOCK
- Equity shares owned by major stakeholders of a publicly traded company. Either they have a majority of the outstanding stocks or portion of the shares significant enough to influence a company’s decisions.
- Situations in which firms have more than one class of common shares, stocks with outstanding voting power, or vote considered to be control stocks, in relation to the inferior class.
